Students currently enrolled in teacher education courses will have a substantial impact on education in the future. It is therefore important to investigate their motivations for entering into teacher education, their perceptions about the teaching profession, and their career aspirations.
LIFT Study was first conducted in October 2011 with 854 Indonesian final-year teacher education students from two public and two private universities. This research referred to the Factors Influencing Teaching Choice (FIT-Choice) framework and scale which have been widely applied across countries and were translated into 17 languages.
The LIFT Study is the first research project to employ the FIT-Choice scale in Indonesia. If you are interested in our findings, please see our publications.
The LIFT Study gratefully acknowledges the support, collaboration and valuable assistance of prominent scholars in teacher education.
